Though I now live in Portland, OR with my husband and children, I grew up in South Jersey, halfway between Philadelphia and the Pine Barrens. My first real career was in bartending.
I attended Rutgers-Camden for English and linguistics, for both undergrad and my first Master’s degree. I also have an MFA in poetry from the University of Oregon and an MDiv from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, IL. I was ordained by the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene, Oregon in 2020. I am in fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association, and am a member of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers’ Association.
Though I have served churches in the past, most of my ministry has been in healthcare chaplaincy. I currently serve as a healthcare chaplain here Oregon, at an institution that serves elders.
When I’m not doing ministry, I love spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, camping, cooking, and gardening. I love learning about botany, languages, and history.
My writing can be found here. I primarily write about Unitarian Universalist “insider baseball” and ecclesiology, which might be dull!
My videos, including the series “Things Unitarian Universalists Should Know,” can be found here.
My Facebook page can be found here. It’s an even split of memes, public theology / activism, and Unitarian stuff.
