The Gadfly Movement:
History, Ideology, Tactics, and Defense
As of February 2023, I currently offer a two-hour training session for churches on the Gadfly Movement. It includes:
– an overview of the movement’s history, so your lay leaders can counter disingenuous narratives
– a primer on the Gadflies’ ideology, including why it is harmful
– an explanation of the tactics commonly used by Gadflies to gain power in churches
– information about how your church can protect itself and encourage health.
The goal of this training is to help inform and empower lay leaders before Gadflies have begun to sow conflict – but it’s never too late to help your folks get up to speed. Groups within your church that might benefit from this training include the Board of Trustees, Nominating Committee, Search Committee, and Committee on Ministry.
I am also available to lead more specialized trainings and workshops tailored to your church’s needs.
